Serious Hit and Run Crash on the Bay Bridge

At 6: 44 PM Kent Island VFD and Queen Anne's Emergency Services were alerted for a motor vehicle collision on the west bound Bay Bridge. Engine 14, Rescue 1 and Chief 1 responded with 13 personnel. C-1 (A/C P. Schlotterbeck) arrived to find a 3 vehicle crash with the driver of one vehicle trapped in the vehicle. KIVFD crews were able to extricate the driver in under 8 minutes. The driver was treated by Queen Anne's County Paramedics. The patient was flown by Maryland State Police Helicopter to Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore.

Units from the US Naval Academy Fire Department established the landing site at the Bay Bridge Airport. Annapolis City FD Paramedic 39 evaluated 1 driver who refused transport.

The crash remains under investigation. Maryland Transportation Authority Police are asking anyone who has any information about this crash to call them at 410-295-8146.
