At 1729 hours HazMat 1 was alerted to respond mutual aid to Kent County, Maryland to assist the Galena Vol. Fire Co. with a tractor trailer crash. Units arrived to find a tractor trailer that had run off the right side of the road coming to rest in a drainage ditch. The crash resulted in one of the trucks saddle tanks being punctured. Diesel fuel leaked in the water filled drainage ditch. HazMat 1 personnel pumped off the fuel remaining in the saddle tanks and assisted Galena VFC personnel with using absorbents to contain the spill.
