Last week, members of the Queen Anne's County Office of the Sheriff, Maryland State Police, and the QAC State's Attorney's office carried the torch for the 2019 Law Enforcement Torch Run for the Special Olympics.
Every year our office, along with allied agencies, participate in this event to increase awareness and raise funds for the Special Olympics movement.
The participants ran, in the heat, from the Kent Island Volunteer Fire Department to the route 8 business park utilizing route 18. There were no complaints, only laughter, excitement, and slight competition.

The runners were also given some encouragement from the Kent Island Elementary school students.

The Torch Run is for a great cause, and everyone is looking forward to next year, rain or shine!
