Last week members from KIVFD along with other volunteer fire departments through out the state, travelled to College Park to assist MFRI and the Congressional Fire Service Institute. Senate and Congress members spent the day learning about the necessities of our tools and equipment, as well as the technology we use in the fire service today. The participants were given a first hand experience on vehicle extrication, flammable liquid fires, traversed through a confined space maze, effectiveness on fire sprinklers, aerial apparatus operations, and fire behavior in the burn building.
