Shortly before 11:30 yesterday afternoon, Kent Island VFD and surround departments were alerted for a Structure Fire on Walker Rd in Stevensville. While responding, units were advised police were on scene with a working fire inside a detached garage. Engine 12 and Engine-Tanker 1 arrived on location and began extinguishing the fire with the assistance of Grasonville VFD. Tankers from Grasonville VFD, Queenstown VFD, & United Communities VFD assisted with water supply. Mutual Aid companies from Anne Arundel County Fire Department and Annapolis City Fire Department were also on scene. Crews operated for approximately 2 hours before returning to service. Officer 102 (T. Schulz) had the Walker Rd command.

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation by the Maryland State Fire Marshal’s Office.
