Shortly after 4PM a building fire was reported in the 300 block of Pier One Road. Firefighters from Kent Island VFD, along with units from Grasonville VFD, United Communities VFD, Queenstown VFD, Anne Arundel Co. FD and the Queen Anne's Co. Dept. of Emergency Services responded. First arriving units found fire showing from the rear of the two story wood frame building. Crews made an interior attack to limit the spread of the fire. Fire suppression efforts were hampered by the electrical service to the building being in the area of the fire. Delmarva Power responded to secure the power. The fire is being investigated by the Office of the State Fire Marshal.
